Deputy City Clerk April Leggett, who has run meetings in City Council chambers for several months, earned Certified Municipal Clerk Designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
With the certification, Leggett also applied for and received Certified Arkansas Municipal Clerk designation.
“I’ve been working on this designation three years,” Leggett said. “It takes a lot of experience, as well as classes and papers, to receive this designation.”
Leggett is a past director of the District 1 Arkansas City Clerks, Recorders and Treasurers Association. Leggett, who has a master’s degree in business technology from Arkansas State University, has worked in the clerk’s office since April 1, 2016, but was promoted to Deputy City Clerk on October 1, 2017.
