[ARCHIVED] Tornado Victims Can Still Receive Cleanup Help

Residents with remaining tornado debris on their lawns can move it curbside, and City Streets trucks will make another pass at the end of the month to remove it, Streets Supervisor Steve Tippett and Code Enforcement Director Mike Tyner announced Monday.

“I spoke with Steve and he advised that Streets is wrapping up the last of the large debris piles set by the street, but a large amount of storm debris still exists on several properties,” Tyner said. “People had all kinds of things show up in their yards, so this gives them a couple more weeks to get it to the street and we will pick it up.”

This is for debris left in yards by the storm, not garbage generated by contractors doing repair work, Tyner stressed. Any work debris removed by contractors must be taken Legacy Landfill, and tipping fees apply.
