The City of Jonesboro’s Civil Service Commission will be testing for the position of firefighter for the Jonesboro Fire Department. A written exam will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Training Room at the Jonesboro Fire Station #3, 2212 Brazos St. Jonesboro, AR at 8:30 A.M.
Individuals who pass the written exam with a minimum score of 70% will be required to pass a physical agility test that will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. at the Arkansas Fire Academy, 3105 Fire Academy Dr. Jonesboro, AR. Applicants should wear suitable shoes and clothing. All Liability Waivers must be signed, witnessed and turned in with the application in order to test.
* Picture I.D. will be checked prior to the written exam and the physical agility test.
Persons interested in a firefighter position must meet these minimum qualifications:
1. Be a United States Citizen
2. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
3. Minimum age 21 (at the time of testing)
4. Maximum age 34 (at the time of hiring)
5. No Felony Convictions
6. Valid Driver’s License

Candidates who pass the written exam and the physical agility test will be subject to an oral interview, drug screen, medical exam and a comprehensive background check including a polygraph test as positions become available. Applicants will be notified.
