[ARCHIVED] Christmas at the Park Coming to Jonesboro!

Mayor Harold Perrin speaks at Christmas at the Park press conference held at Joe Mack Campbell Park.

A press conference and ribbon cutting was held today for a new holiday tradition that is coming to Jonesboro this winter: Christmas at the Park.

The event, which will be held at Joe Mack Campbell Park, will feature over a half-mile drive-through of holiday lights and displays, as well as opportunities for photos with Santa, concessions and a Red Wolf Howl scavenger hunt.

Sponsored by Ground Crew, LLC, St. Bernards Medical Group, City of Jonesboro, AR - Government and Arkansas State University, Christmas at the Park will open to the public on Friday, Nov. 22 and will continue through Jan. 4, 2020. The drive-through light spectacular will be open Thursday through Sunday from 5 – 10 p.m.

“We are so excited to bring this new opportunity to our great city,” said Adam Sartin, owner of the Ground Crew, the presenting sponsor of the event. “We want Christmas at the Park to be a long-standing tradition that residents across the Northeast Arkansas region will want to visit each year.”

The event will feature more than 35 holiday collections, comprised of over 350 different pieces, as well as a drive-through tunnel of lights and a Christmas tree visitors are encouraged to stop and enjoy. The plan is for more lights and displays to be added each year.

“I feel projects like Christmas at the Park benefit our city greatly,” said Dr. Matt Garner, president of St. Bernards Medical Group, the founding sponsor of the event. “We want people to create traditions here, bring their families here and basically enjoy the great community we have here in Jonesboro. As physicians practicing here, we are proud to support Christmas at the Park.”

The cost for entry into Christmas at the Park will be $10 per car. A concession stand will be open with all proceeds benefiting the City Stars program.

Several community events will be hosted during Christmas at the Park, including a special weekend where foster families enter the park for free and a toy and food drive for discounted admission. More events will be announced closer to the opening date.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information about Christmas at the Park, please visit christmasattheparknea.com or call Adam Sartin at 870-336-9950 or Lydia Parkey at 870-207-7307. Find them on Facebook @christmasattheparknea
