FY 2015-16 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Announcements

NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY – REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The City of Jonesboro Grants & Community Development Department will accept applications for the HUD Community Development Block Grant 2015 public service projects. Applicants must be a not-for-profit organization as established by the IRS. Applications are due on or before February 13, 2015 by 5:00 p.m. The 2015 program year will run July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. The major focus of Jonesboro’s CDBG program is to provide a suitable living environment, decent housing, social services, and economic opportunities in our low income areas and/or for low income people. The City of Jonesboro is planning to award 3 to 5 applications for the FY 2015-16 planning year. Total amount of funding available is $75,000 for all public service awards.

NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY – REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS

The City of Jonesboro Grants and Community Development Department is requesting applications for sewer hook-up for low to moderate income families for the CDBG FY 2015-16 planning year. Qualifications include: (1) meet HUD income guidelines – located at http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/il/il2014/2014summary.odn; (2) be homeowner occupied; (3) have current homeowners insurance; and (4) be current on all property taxes. This application opportunity is for low income families that have access to a sewer trunk line but that are still on septic systems, but would like to be hooked up to sewer.
