Thanks to the generous donations of Dallas Benson and Sonic Drive In of Jonesboro, Mayor Copenhaver and members of his staff delivered 25 burgers to people staying at Salvation Army this afternoon.
The shelter was full for the first time during this cold snap but not overburdened Wednesday night. Copenhaver and City staff have created plans to provide overnight space for those in need in the event that Salvation Army’s capacity is over extended.
The mayor expressed his admiration and gratitude to social services provider Sue Webster, who is manning the Salvation Army this week.
