Street
The Street Department has two divisions: Construction and Maintenance.
The construction division is responsible for all phases of street and road construction; construction maintenance; bridge maintenance; and maintenance of approximately 400 miles of streets.
The Maintenance division is responsible for all mowing; concrete work (sidewalk and concrete street repair); storm water inlets; asphalt repair; road striping; making, installing and maintaining all street signs; and crack filling.
The department has 52 full-time and 8 part-time employees.
Of the $3.2 million budget, $900,000 is spent on street contracts (consisting mainly of asphalt overlays), and $1 million is spent on salaries.
