Where is the event located?
The event is held on Main Street in downtown Jonesboro between Washington Ave and Kate Street. The roads will be blocked off at the respective intersections. Union Ave between Kate St and Washington will also be blocked.

What time does the event start?
There really isn't a set start time for our event. Although, the first band will start at 11am. The bbq contest actually starts at 8am on Oct 6th. We typically find that people arrive at all different times of the day with the majority of the crowd showing up around 2-3pm.

Where can I park?
Good question! Parking is a major issue in the downtown area in general. Add in over 10,000 in attendance and it is an even larger issue. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help this. Our best advice is to come early. Several lots are available in the general area.

Will I be able to eat BBQ?
YES! We usually have a few vendors selling bbq at the event. BBQ Contest teams CANNOT sell you contest food. They are able to give you samples of their food but it is completely up to them. They are not required to do so by the event.

Is there seating at the stages?
No. Because this is a free event we do not offer seating or purchased seating. If you want a good spot, show up early and bring a lawn chair!

Is alcohol allowed at the event?
No. Jonesboro resides in a dry county. However, their are no less than 6 private restaurants on Main Street that serve alcohol. No coolers will be allowed at the event as well. There will be plenty of soft drinks and water at the event for purchase.

Is the event for the whole family?
Absolutely! Our goal is to offer something for all ages to enjoy.

How is the weather in October?
This is the 4th year for this event and so far we have had perfect weather. Expect 70-80 degrees during the day with a bit chillier temperatures at night. The event is rain or shine. The bands will play regardless of rain. Although, if stormy weather and high winds show up we will have to postpone the show until after it passes.

Where can I buy meat for the BBQ contest?
Although there are many places in Jonesboro to buy meat for the contest, we ask that you support our official meat sponsor for the 2012 contest Sam's Club. They are located on Caraway Rd, just behind the IHop.
