Description Grade
Assistant Senior Planner

JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for assisting in the administering of planning and development activities for the City. Candidate is responsible for day-to-day planning related City Planning functions: Processes plan reviews and staff reports for rezonings, annexations, appeals, and conditional uses; performs field inspections for compliance, zoning violations, zoning verifications, planning analysis and studies, land use and zoning map amendments. This position is responsible for interpreting City Codes and Ordinances, Zoning and State laws and the presenting of findings to Boards, Commissions, and City Council.  Communication and presentation skills are essential and candidate must coordinate with other reviewing departments and agencies for projects under review. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Broad knowledge in the field of urban planning   equivalent to four years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB SUMMARY: Duties will include, but are not limited to, maintaining surveillance of swimmers, enforcing safety rules in and around the pool, performing rescue operations as necessary, teaching swimming lessons when scheduled, and maintaining the pool area in a clean and safe manner.  Applicants must have Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
