Gayle Vickers is the Community Development Grants Coordinator for the City of Jonesboro. The responsibilities of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) include:  all aspects of planning, the coordination of all program activities, their delegation, implementation, reporting, and administration.

The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awards an average of $550,000 per year to the City of Jonesboro's CDBG program to provide financial assistance for our very low, low, and moderate income areas and residents. Eligible activities include administrative, rehabilitation, clearance activities, public services, parks, sewer, streets, drainage, economic development, planning, acquisition, disposition, relocation, and their implementation.

In addition to addressing one of the community needs stated above, a project must meet at least one of the three broad national objectives for the CDBG program in order to be eligible for funding:
