The Finance Department is responsible for all aspects of accounting and funds management for the city. It consists of eight employees who perform record keeping, accounts payable, purchasing, revenue collections, budgeting, semi-monthly payroll, and financial reporting. Each month, the purchasing and accounts payable staff process an average of 350 checks averaging $2.0 million. The Payroll Specialist processes the $850,000 payroll twice a month for an average of 550 employees. The finance team is composed of the following: Chief Finance Officer, City Accountant, Payroll/Budget Specialist, Purchasing Agent, Collections Officer, Accounting Specialists, two Accounting Technicians.
