How about come Christmas time the whole city make a big deal about decorating for Christmas-get the city government, the local businesses, the various neighborhood associations and other local organizations in on the act decorating houses, yards, and buildings. The city could promote Christmas light tours and so on. Besides being a fun thing to do it could work as a big draw for people from the surrounding area who might stop and spend a little money here while in town.

Why can't Jonesboro offer a place for the homeless to stay?? A lady and her husband came here about 3 years ago and lived on the streets--her husband died last year. She had what few belongings she had stolen, and was shot in the ankle by her attackers, she is now in a wheelchair and still homeless!! The cheapest place she has found to stay costs $40.00 a NIGHT!! I have helped her some but even I cannot afford to pay $40.00 a night as well as my own expenses--how can I help her??? I live in a 1bdrm apt. I cannot bring her home with me--I want to give her PERMANENT help but I don't know how. Why isn't there a place she can stay so she can apply for disability??? What can we do as a community to help these people?????
They deserve an opportunity to help themselves--if they do not use it then it it is their fault but-they should be offered a chance. Any ideas, suggestions, information???? Thanks.

we all know we need help with traffic. you want to raise taxes for ten years to raise 144 millon dollars, to rebuild roads for better, safer, quicker acces. why cant we turn some of our roads into one way roads? there is options in Jonesboro for one way roads.highland and nettleton, caraway stadium, plus many others. I have not seen a city growing so much with no one way streets. just think, instead of having a 5 lane road going in two directions, you could have 5 lanes going in same direction. wow how much faster traffic could move. I know, you don't want changes, will your fixing to have it regardless!!!!

Mr. Dover, you cover our area, you went through this and the city replaced your house. Called you weeks back, explained what was going on, you said that you knew nothing about this, but would check into it. You also promised to call back. You did not call back. You will not return calls nor text? Why? Turn your back like the Mayor and rest? Thanks bud! Thanks to the leadership for all you have done and do which is NOTHING!

Forget the water park, dog park, side walks, the fair grounds, camera's in high crime areas, body camera's for police officers we need a shooting complex next to I555 in a heavy commercial zone. That should take care of any new commercial growth in Jonesboro.

I was glad to hear the Barbecue festival was planning to return. Great for Jonesboro. There was a nagging thought I couldn’t recall, something about the event from past attendance - i went to the festival Saturday afternoon, shortly after arriving it hit me. Those darn generators. The buildings create a noise tunnel, they emit exhaust and drone out the sounds of a festival. Can’t CWL come up with a power distribution solution that the vendors pay for? Looking at yesterday’s lines, these folks weren’t leaving with empty pockets. Eliminate the Genertors.

City of Jonesboro promote home purchases of “bidets”. It helps reduce waste and work great. Europe has been using them for years. Recent waste water issues highlighted concerns over content and amount of waste. It can’t help with grease being poured down the drain but can help significantly reduce paper and wipes. We purchased one for our family and drastically reduced paper and very sanitary. City could work with corporations like Amazon or Walmart to receive discount codes for reduced prices as an incentive. Produce flyers to include with water bill, etc. Getting neighborhood groups and installations like A-State on board could help bolster support and awareness.
